Chapter 17 of the HSN Code pertains to sugars and sugar confectionery. It includes cane or beet sugar and chemically pure sucrose in solid form (HSN Code 1701), as well as other sugars such as lactose, maltose, glucose, and fructose, along with sugar syrups, artificial honey, and caramel (HSN Code 1702). Molasses resulting from sugar extraction or refining is covered under HSN Code 1703. Lastly, the chapter includes sugar confectionery not containing cocoa, such as white chocolate (HSN Code 1704).
