A firm may register at any time by submitting an application to the Registrar of Firms. The process has been clearly explained in Section 58 of the Indian Partnership (Uttar Pradesh Amendment) Act, 2001. Before registering the firm the partners should draft a partnership deed. This document contains all the terms and conditions of the functioning business. This deed must be signed by all partners and must be stamped according to the Indian Stamp Act. The next stage is to file an application to the Registrar of Firms along with the partnership deed and other documents. Upon approval, the Registrar of Firms will issue a certificate of registration, which must be displayed at the place of business.
