Overview of FSSAI Registration in Telangana

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is an autonomous body constituted under the Government of India's Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

The FSSAI now regulates food production, distribution, storage, import, and sale, as well as the availability of safety for human consumption. Under the act, each food business owner will have to obtain a food license to sell food.

Types of FSSAI Licenses

There are three different types of FSSAI licenses. They are

• Basic Registration

  If the company's annual turnover is less than ₹ 12 lakhs, the food business operator must be registered with Type A of Registration.

• State Licence

  If the company's annual turnover is between ₹12 lakhs and 20 crores, then the food business operator shall apply for a State license (Form B).

• Central Licence

  If the company's annual turnover exceeds 20 crores, then Central License (Form B) will apply to the food business operator.

Procedure for Food License Registration in Telangana

Check the below procedure to get your food license in Telangana.

• Go to the official website of the FSSAI Licensing and Registration System of Telangana.
• Tap on “Apply Now for License/Registration” on the portal's homepage.
• On the next page, choose the state for which the license will be applied from the drop-down list.
• Now, the applicant has to choose the appropriate answer for the “Yes or No” question related to the company's branch functioning in more than one state.
• Choose all kinds of businesses as per their location for which the license is to be applied.
• Check the capacity or turnover for determining the eligibility of that category for each kind of business selected, and click on the ‘Proceed’ button.
• After clicking on the ‘Proceed’ button, you will be redirected to another page, where you can select “Click here to apply”.
• The declaration page will open up, where you can click the “Accept” button.
• The application form will be displayed on the screen where you can fill in the required details and upload the necessary documents.
• Once the online submission of the form is over, the applicant has to initiate payment to finish the process.
• After the successful payment, a reference number will be generated.

Food License renewal process in Telangana

The food licence renewal process is similar to the general FSSAI registration process.

• The first step of FSSAI license renewal is to fill out either Form A (Basic FSSAI Registration) or Form B (Central or State FSSAI Registration) following the previous license along with the self-tested documents
• The authority will inspect it upon receipt of a fully filled FSSAI License Renewal Application
• The authority will then send FSSAI officers to perform a comprehensive inquiry and inspection of the place's food business, thoroughly inspect the requirements and other guidelines related to your business and prepare a report.
• The authority will issue FSSAI / Food license within 60 days.

• Documents required for the central license:

  • Form B duly filled out and signed.
  • Processing unit plan showing all measurements and operating area allocation.
  • List of managers/partners/owners, along with address, contact details, and photo ID
  • List the name of equipment and machinery to be used with the number and capability installed.
  • List of food categories to be produced.
  • Manufacturer Authority letter.
  • Report on water analysis to be included in the process

  • Recall plan
  • Certificate from the Ministry of Commerce for 100% EOU
  • NOC document is given by FSSAI
  • Form IX
  • Certificate from Ministry of Tourism
  • Proof of possession of premises
  • Partnership deed or affidavit of proprietorship
  • NOC and copy of the license from the manufacturer
  • Food safety management system plan or certificate
  • NOC from the municipality or local body
  • Supporting document for proof of turnover and transportation
  • Declaration form

  • Certificate copy obtained under the Coop Act 1861 or Multistate Coop Act 2002
  • Food safety management system plan or certificate.
