Chapter 55 of the HSN Code deals with man-made staple fibres. HSN Code 5501 covers synthetic filament tow, while HSN Code 5502 pertains to artificial filament tow. HSN Codes 5503 and 5504 refer to synthetic and artificial staple fibres that are not carded, combed, or processed for spinning. HSN Code 5505 covers waste of man-made staple fibres, including noils, yarn waste, and garnetted stock. HSN Codes 5506 and 5507 refer to synthetic and artificial staple fibres that are carded, combed, or otherwise processed for spinning. HSN Code 5508 includes sewing thread made from man-made staple fibres, whether or not put up for retail sale. HSN Codes 5509 and 5510 relate to yarn made from synthetic and artificial staple fibres, excluding sewing thread and yarn packaged for retail sale. HSN Code 5511 covers yarn of man-made staple fibres put up for retail sale, excluding sewing thread. HSN Codes 5512 to 5516 cover woven fabrics containing at least 85% synthetic staple fibres, including those mixed with cotton and other varieties, and woven fabrics of artificial staple fibres.
