Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency

The Tamil Nadu E-Governance Agency (TNeGA) is in charge of regulating all projects and initiatives for the Tamil Nadu government. The primary goal is to establish low-cost, technology-enabled flexible approaches to dramatically influence management. It focuses on creating a G2C service delivery system for barrier-free access to governance that is open and accepting, equitable, and widely accessible. TNeGA supports policy agencies with IT systems and outsourcing facilities for their infrastructure requirements. Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency works under the Tamil Nadu Government's Department of Information Technology. Let us now understand the various services available in TNeGA and their benefits to the people.

Benefits of Tamil Nadu E-Governance Agency

Here are the services that TNeGA provides to citizens, and their benefits.

  • The Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency aims to accomplish the dream of using digital technology in governance and delivering services to the public at their place of convenience. This e-governance agency was established under the Tamil Nadu government's Information Technology Department to act as the government's essential arm with a mission to accelerate e-governance in the state. This organization was registered under the Societies Act of Tamil Nadu. The strategy is to fulfil the citizen 's dream of seamless service delivery at an acceptable expense to the closest venue. A clear front-end delivery system, efficient back-end computer technology, sufficient bandwidth (TNSWAN) connectivity, and necessary infrastructure (SDC, SSDG, State Portal, and other interested parties) together with the software applications incorporated with the requisite MIS are needed to accomplish this.
  • Tamil Nadu will continue to leverage information communication technology, and e-governance will grow steadily. The services are provided to people through efficient and easily available distribution channels / web-enabled networks, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and consistency at reasonable costs and making all people an essential part of the ever-increasing information society and achieving quality living.
  • The National E-Governance Plan (NeGP) offers a framework for meeting the citizens' service delivery. Even before NeGP was formulated, Tamil Nadu has introduced several e-governance projects, particularly in the Land Records, Registration, Transport Departments, etc. Actually, since its implementation in May 2006 by the Government of India, Tamil Nadu has gradually aligned its entire e-Governance strategy following NeGP.
  • TNeGA initiated G2C programs including e-District, community work Centers (CSCs)/e-Sevai Urban and Rural facilities, Capacity Building (CB) in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) & Systems, State Resident Data Hub (SRDH), Tamil Nadu Geographical Information System (TNGIS), State Services Delivery Gateway (SSDG).
  • The Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency (TNeGA) with its recently founded Center of Excellence (CoE), which emphasizes Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Data Analytics, IoT, and Machine Learning, aims to advance innovation inside the TN government. TNeGA and the E-Governance Commissioner were founded and coexisted to promote all e-Governance measures across the state of Tamil Nadu and to handle all state departments with their technological efforts. TNeGA carries the role of developing and promoting solutions in light of emerging technologies such as AI, Blockchain, and IoT to address pressing governance-related challenges.
