What if a Consumer is Not Satisfied With the Quality of the Produce Under Agmark?

Consumers who are dissatisfied with the Agmark-certified agricultural products' quality can file a complaint with the Agricultural Marketing Adviser by providing all pertinent information, including the product's Agmark label, serial number, lot number, date of packing, and the name and address of the seller.

If the complaint is legitimate, the relevant packer will be subject to the necessary APGM Act 1937 action. Additionally, the customer will receive a free swap of the product as a replacement.

Agmark Registration Fees

Agmark is a certification mark for agricultural produce in India. It is issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare's Directorate of Marketing and Inspection (DMI). Any company dealing in agricultural products must register with Agmark in Delhi, Gurugram, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad. India is home to many cities, including Chennai, Bangalore, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Sonipat, Haryana, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Jammu & Kashmir. Before a licence may be granted, some payments associated with the registration process must be paid. Any agricultural product that satisfies the minimal requirements for quality and safety will have the certification mark, which is a recognised trademark.

The rules that apply to agricultural products that bear the Agmark include having consistent ingredients throughout their entire production cycle, adhering to safe handling and hygiene norms, guaranteeing local production, and promoting sustainability. In addition to paying a fee to keep their licence active, those who sell items bearing the Agmark may also need to follow particular marketing guidelines. These requirements can change based on the kind of product being sold. The Ministry of Agriculture first launched the Agmark programme in 2005.

For those who create agricultural goods, India's Agmark registration process is a crucial step. It helps shield consumers from any potential health concerns by ensuring that the products' quality meets the standards set by the government. Depending on the sort of product being registered, there are different costs and registration fees for each category.

It is necessary to pay a request draft of ₹10,000 to submit an application. Vakilsearch is an expert in providing web-based and legal services that help clients improve their plans for AGMARK Registration online, execution, fee considerations, and other legal compliances and services related to doing business in India.

The type of commodity being registered for in India will determine the Agmark Registration Fees. The Agmark registration fees, for instance, are ₹500 for fruits and vegetables and ₹10,000 for processed goods and dairy products.

Objective of the Agmark License

The main objective of Agmark is to provide consumers with quality and unadulterated products. The grading can be used for both domestic and export purposes.

Features of AGMARK

For agricultural products, this is granted by the Directorate of Marketing and Inspection, which is a division of the Government of India's Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

More than 200 distinct commodities, from grains to pulses, from essential oils to semi-processed foods like vermicelli, are covered, along with quality standards. The headquarters are located in Faridabad.

There are 11 state-owned AGMARK labs spread across 11 nodal cities, with the central AGMARK Laboratory located in Nagpur.

According to the Agricultural Produce (Grading and Marking) Act of 1937, it is legally binding (amended in 1986).

Applications are submitted on Agmark online using a portal developed by the National Informatic Center (NIC).

The Codex Alimentarius Commission, the International Organization for Standardization, and the Food Safety and Standards Act of 2006 serve as the foundation for the AGMARK standards.

AGMARK certification is optional, with the exception of edible vegetable oils and fat spread, which must be certified in accordance with FSSAI Regulations, 2006.
