Step 1 Collect three applications (Form No. 1 under Rule 4 of the Hindu Marriage Act 1955) from your local sub-registrar office.  Please note that the jurisdiction is based on the place of residence of the bride and groom, not the place of marriage.
Step 2

The three witnesses must sign all three copies of the form.

 Witnesses must be adults.

The witness can be anyone who attends the ceremony. If possible, close relatives (ideally the applicant’s parents).

The witnesses must carry an age certificate, address certificate, and two photos with them when they accompany the couple to the registrar’s office.

Step 3 Submit the filled form to your sub-registrar and the required documents.
Step 4 If the submission is successful, the applicant’s couple will receive six printouts of the information present in the application.
Step 5

The bride and groom must sign all six printouts.

Two copies of the same (marriage certificate) are returned to the couple, and the rest are kept in the registrar for official records.
