Overview of Viklang Pension Yojana
The Central Government has launched the Viklang Pension Yojana. This scheme provides a monthly pension to the country’s disabled citizens. The central and state governments contribute to the pension fund under this scheme.
The central government contributes ₹200 per person per month to run the scheme, with the state government covering the remainder. The state provides a minimum pension of ₹400 per month and a maximum pension of ₹500 per month to the beneficiaries under this scheme. This amount differs from one state to the next. It is through Direct Benefit Transfer, that the pension amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary’s account, hence having an Aadhaar card and bank account is necessary to avail of the scheme.
Who Are Eligible to Avail Benefits Under Viklang Pension Yojana 2023?
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of the state in which he or she is applying
- The applicant must be at least 18 years old
- The candidate’s maximum age should be 59 years
- The applicant must be disabled by at least 40%
- If the applicant is receiving benefits from another pension scheme, he is ineligible to receive benefits from this scheme
- The applicant must be below the poverty line
