UP Shadi Anudan Yojana 2023
Under the UP Shadi Anudan Yojana 2023, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Aditya Nath, is providing support for girls’ weddings from economically disadvantaged families in the state. To be eligible for the scheme, the bride must be 18 years or older on the day of the marriage, and the groom must be at least 21 years old.

Uttar Pradesh Government Closed Marriage Grant Scheme
The Uttar Pradesh government has discontinued the Uttar Pradesh Marriage Grant Scheme 2023. This program, which provided a grant of ₹20,000 to poor daughters from the scheduled caste and general category for their marriages, is no longer accepting applications.
The Social Welfare Department issued an order on 18 August, instructing the National Informatics Center to remove the scheme from its portal. Although applications for marriage grants were accepted until August 26th, they are no longer being accepted.
According to Dr. Pragya Pandey, a Social Welfare Officer, the portal for the UP Shadi Anudan Yojana 2023 will no longer accept applications for marriage grants. Technical work is underway to remove the scheme from the portal, however, the state’s mass marriage scheme will continue as usual, offering ₹51,000 to each couple for their marriage.
Allocation of ₹600 Crores Made by the Government
The first budget of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s second term was presented on 26 May 2022. The government proposed about ₹ 6 lakh crores for the financial year 2022-23. Many important announcements were made in this budget, which the Finance Minister under various schemes allocated.
The government also made announcements related to special schemes for women. An amount of ₹600 crores was allocated for the year 2022-23 under the Uttar Pradesh Marriage Grant Scheme, which would benefit poor families with the marriage of their daughters.

Objective of UP Marriage Grant Scheme
