Procedure to Apply for a Passport Online in Bengaluru

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) oversees passport services, and with the advent of online applications, the process has become more convenient. 

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to apply for a passport online in Bengaluru:

  1. Visit the Passport Seva website under the governance of the MEA.
  2. Choose ‘New User Registration’ and complete the registration process.
  3. Enter the necessary details and click on Register.
  4. Log in using the provided credentials after successful registration.
  5. Click on ‘Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport’ after logging in.
  6. Fill in the required details and submit the application form.
  7. Visit the ‘View Saved/Submitted Applications’ section and select ‘Pay and Schedule Appointment.’
  8. Make the required payment through SBI challan, internet banking, credit card, or debit card. Choose a convenient date for document submission.
  9. Click ‘Print Application Receipt’ to obtain a copy of the application receipt.
  10. Attend the scheduled appointment at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Regional Passport Office (RPO) in Bengaluru with the necessary documents and application receipt.
  11. After verification, the applicant receives a notification and can collect the passport in person from the RPO.

Offline Procedure to Obtain a Passport in Bengaluru

The offline procedure for obtaining a passport in Bengaluru involves visiting the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Regional Passport Office (RPO) in person. The steps for this method are as follows:
