This article provides comprehensive information about the scheme, including its goals, benefits, features, eligibility, required documents, and online registration process. If you want to learn about the National Youth Parliament Scheme in detail, please read this article thoroughly.

About National Youth Parliament Scheme 2023

The Indian Government has introduced the National Youth Parliament Scheme to encourage youth engagement in parliamentary processes. The scheme involves mock parliament sessions for students in schools and colleges to familiarise themselves with parliament proceedings and express their opinions. The government has launched a web portal with training resources like tutorials, literature, and videos for participants to receive e-training. The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs will oversee the implementation and monitoring of the scheme, which is open to all recognised educational institutions.

National Youth Parliament Scheme Registration and Selection

The portal will be used for registration for the National Youth Parliament Scheme. By using the principle, head, register, or dean’s Aadhar credential, as may be periodically specified, all schools and institutions can register themselves. Parliamentary sessions will last for one hour. Any of the scheduled languages are acceptable, however Hindi and English are preferred. The institution’s grounds will host the meeting of the youth parliament. About 50 to 55 teenagers can participate in a youth parliament meeting.

  • Students in grades 9 through 12, as well as graduates and post-graduates, may engage in this programme. With the principal’s agreement, schools will choose students for Kishore Sabha of the youth parliament from classes 9 through 12. Similar to how colleges and universities choose their undergraduate and graduate students, Tarun sabha’s registrar will provide the clearance.
  • All candidates who participate in this scheme will get a participation certificate. A certificate of appreciation will also be given to the instructor in charge or institution leader in addition to the above. These certificates can be printed using the institution’s or principal’s login information.

Subjects for Discussion at Youth Parliament

Only non-contraventional disciplines are available for students to choose from. Students are not permitted to mention any political parties, leaders, or other individuals directly or indirectly in their speeches during the youth parliament. The administration will have a recurring theme for its policies and initiatives each year. There will be a parliamentary session using this as the focus. The following are some of the issues that can be brought up in youth parliament:-

  • Welfare activities
  • Difference of the country
  • Social justice

  • Economic development
  • Communal harmony
  • Education
  • Government welfare schemes
