Objectives of IITFC

The primary objectives of the IITFC Program are outlined as follows

Eligibility Criteria

IITFC is designed to draw in and hire a variety of applicants, from enthusiastic freshmen students to ambitious stay-at-home moms eager to learn about tourist facilitation out from the comfort of their own homes. The prerequisites for applying to the IITFC Program are as follows:

  • Any applicant who has completed grades 10 or 12 may register for the basic online course through the portal.
  • The applicant should be fluent in the local language or another regional language specific to that state. 
  • An experienced professional or a non-active job seeker can enrol in this course to add a new skill to their resume.
  • To sign up for this online course, applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Required Documents

The following are required to sign up for any online course offered through the IITFC Program:

  • PAN cards, Aadhaar cards, driver’s licences, voter ID cards, etc. are examples of identity proof. 
  • Address verification options include utility bills, property tax bills, valid passports, and Aadhar cards. 
  • Copies of 10th- and 12th-grade certificates that have been attested by a competent authority are used to determine age and educational background. 
  • documents pertaining to the previous work history (if any) 
  • Additional paperwork (if required)

Course Specifics

The three categories that make up the IITFC programme are as follows:

  • Basic Level: Modules in the basic course are designed to train tour guides in the knowledge, skills, and attitude categories. includes the state-specific modules as well. 
  • Advanced Level: Advanced courses will include specialised courses on subjects like heritage, adventure, etc. Only after successfully completing the Basic course would this be enabled. 
  • Language Level: These courses are specifically designed for learning a language, with modules focusing on regional and linguistic skills for tour guides.

Note – The initial step for the applicant involves enrolling in a foundational-level program. Subsequently, an agency will conduct an internal assessment through an online test upon completion of the basic program. 

Successful completion of the internal review is a prerequisite for obtaining the course certificate and advancing to the next level of study, whether it be a language course or receiving credit for the program.

  1. Access the Portal

 Step 1: Visit the “Ministry of Tourism, Government of India” portal to register for the online course.

Step 2: Start the registration process by becoming a new user on the portal.

Step 3: Click the “Incredible India Tourist Facilitator Certification (IITFC)” link on the home page to access the new user registration page.

Step 4: Choose the “Registration” tab on the portal’s webpage.

  1. Proper Documentation of Credentials

Step 5: Fill out the registration form with required details like username, email address, first and last names, state, and the chosen category.

Step 6: Upload supporting documents mentioned earlier before submitting the application.

  1. Submit the Application

Step 7: Click the “Submit” icon to complete the registration process.

  1. Enter the Portal

Step 8: Choose the Login tab, and enter your username and password to proceed or sign in directly if you are an existing applicant.

Step 9: After logging in, the candidate can search for courses or select from the available course list.

Note: For current practitioners seeking an expert level course, a refresher course will be introduced, featuring interactive modules taught by subject-matter specialists and experienced facilitators.

  1. Pay Tuition

Step 11: Enroll in the fundamental course with seven modules costing ₹2000 to become a facilitator for knowledge development, skills, and attitude domains.

Step 12: Make the required payment for the selected program, and an acknowledgment will be provided for future reference.

  1. Certificate Issuing

Upon successful completion of the IITFC Program, learners can obtain the Ministry of Tourism’s certification as a tourist facilitator.
