What Are the Objectives of the Apparel Promotion Export Council?

  • To support and encourage the Indian exporters to work to the best of their capabilities to enhance the garment exports.

What Are the Activities of the APEC Registration?

  • The Apparel Promotion Export Council works towards the development of skills in the garment industry. For this, the APEC organises skill assessment and development programs. The council aims to ensure the smooth flow of skilled employees for the Indian apparel Industry.
  • The APEC arranges workshops and seminars to keep the exports updated with the newest trends. Fashion designers from across the world are invited.
  • The council conducts International fairs and Buyer-Seller Meetings (BSMs). Such meetings serve as a contact ground for various apparel buyers and sellers. The sellers are given an opportunity in such fairs to crack deals with international players by exhibiting their products.
  • The APEC conducts surveys and research to gather data and statistics on potential markets and products. Such reports can be used by the exporter to launch new products and grab new markets, to grow their exports.
  • The council Identifies and sends foreign delegations to fetch international deals for its exporters.
  • The council disseminates information, rules, and regulations about various government schemes, incentives, and benefits. Such information is available on the APEC registration website. The information is also disseminated through the “Apparel India” monthly magazine published by the council.
  • Providing access to facilitate collaborations, joint ventures, tie-ups, subcontracting, imports, and exports.

How Can You Register with the APEC?

The documents then are to be submitted at any APEC/ATDC offices. The APEC then reviews your application and decides to either approve or reject it. 

What Documents Are to Be Submitted for the Registration?

The following documents are needed for the APEC registration under the Apparel Promotion Export Council.

  • Application form duly and completely filled out with proper information. This application form can be downloaded from the APEC website.
  • A copy of the IEC issued by the concerned licensing authority (DGFT). The copy has to be self-certified.
  • A duly notarised undertaking on a non-judicial stamp paper.
  • A self-attested copy of the Memorandum of Association (MoA) and the Articles of Association (AoA), or partnership deed or Registration Certificate of the firm, as the case may be,
  • If the exporter wants to get registered as a Manufacturer exporter, a self-attested copy of the SSSI certificate/ Letter of Intent/ Industrial License/ any acknowledgment issued by the concerned authority will be needed.
  • The receipt or acknowledgment copy of the fee paid for registration.

How Much Fee Has to Be Paid for the Registration?

The fee charged for registration with the APEC is as follows: 

  • An entrance fee for new registration is charged ₹1000/- + ₹18% GST, which equals ₹1180/-. 
  • An annual fee of ₹8000/- + 18% GST, which equals ₹9440/-. 
  • A total of ₹10620/- is charged for the registration.
