How can you Apply for a Legal Heir Document in Tamilnadu

In order to  apply for the Tamil Nadu Legal Heir certificate, follow these steps:

  • Visit the Tamil Nadu government’s e-Sevai portal- https://www.tnesevai.tn.gov.in/. The site is very simple to navigate.
  • You can log in with your existing credentials. However, if you are new to the site, you must first Register. Then, in the upper right-hand corner of the page, click the Signup icon. When you click it, the sign-up window will pop up.
  • Fill in the necessary information here. Finally, enter your email and password, and verify with the Captcha code. Then click the “Sign Up” button.
  • You will be sent an OTP to your mobile phone. A pop-up window will open, requesting the OTP. Enter your OTP.
  • After getting confirmation, you can use your credentials to log in by clicking the Login button. You can also use your mobile number to log in. Then, on the left, click the “SERVICE WISE” button and select REV-114 “Legal Heir Certificate.”
  • When you click the aforementioned option, a pop-up window will open, disclosing this page. To apply for the Varisu certificates, scroll down and click “Proceed.”
  • You must enter all necessary information here, such as your CAN number. If you do not yet have a CAN number, register to obtain one. If you have a CAN number, enter it here and click “Search.”
  • After that, you can download the online Application form, complete it, and submit it to the appropriate authorities.

How to Check Document Status of Legal Heir in TamilNadu

To know the status of your Legal Heir Document Online in TamilNadu, you need to follow these simple steps

  • Log in to the Tamil Nadu Government’s registered e-service portal.
  • Then, on the left-hand side, select Services and then Legal heir.
  • You will be redirected to a new webpage after a pop-up window appears.
  • There, you can see the current status of your legal heir certificate by clicking the “Check Status” button.

How to Add a Legal Heir to ITRs?

The legal heirs of the deceased proprietor should file an ITR and charge the computed income tax on their behalf.

The steps to take are as follows:

  • Visit the IRS e-filing website.
  • If you are a registered user, log in with your account information. If not, select ‘Register Yourself’ to create a new account. Complete the registration process by entering all of the required information.
  • Go to ‘My Account’ after simply logging in and signing up as a representative.
  • Choose the next request from the drop-down box under the request type option.
  • In the add/register as a representative section, choose to register yourself from the drop-down box on behalf of another person.
  • In the section to register, choose the deceased’s estate from the drop-down menu.
  • If you choose to proceed, you will be taken to an external page.
  • Include all necessary details, such as the deceased’s PAN, estate name, and incorporation date.
  • Create a zip file containing documents such as a self-attested copy of the legal heir’s PAN card, the deceased person’s PAN card, a copy of the death certificate, the legal heir certificate, or an official document signed in front of a Notary Public.
  • After you’ve uploaded your documents, click on the submit button to submit your application to the e-Filing Administrator.
