However, before the registration process, employees are advised to keep important details such as their employee number, mobile number, date of birth, Aadhaar number, Email ID, employee photo, and other personal details in one place. To register on the AIMS portal, railway employees are suggested to take a look at the simple procedure given below:

  • First, you need to visit the official website of the AIMS portal  
  • After opening the above link, the homepage of the AIMS portal appears on your screen
  • There will be various links on the homepage. You should click the Employee Self-Service Link as it appears on the left side of the website
  • Now, you will be directed to a new web page to enter important details like Email ID, Employee number, and password 
  • Since you are registering on the AIMS railway portal for the first time, you will have to click the New User Registration link which will appear at the bottom of the same page
  • After clicking the New User Registration link, a web page with important details like employee number, mobile number and date of birth will appear on your screen. Fill in the credentials correctly and click submit at the bottom of the page 
  • Employees can also register themselves in the AIMS mobile application, which is the Railway Employee Self Service (RESS) Application which you can download through the Play Store
  • The registration procedures on the AIMS portal and RESS app are similar
  • After clicking the submit button, a verification code will be sent to your registered mobile number 
  • Fill in the above verification code in the given space 
  • After the verification is completed, you will get successfully registered on the AIMS portal or RESS app, on whichever platform the registration is initiated
  • Remember the verification code as it can be your login password, and now you can log in on the AIMS railway portal.

Login  Procedure to AIMS Railway Portal

After successfully registering yourself on the AIMS portal, you can now log in with the specific credentials. See the login process given here and log into the AIMS portal with ease: 

  • Railway employees need first to visit the  official website of the AIMS portal
  • When you open the above link, the home page of the AIMS portal will appear on your screen 
  • You should click the Accounting Information Management System link to log in which will appear at the top of all links given on the homepage
  • Now you will be directed to a new web page which is the login page
  • Or you can also log in through the Employee Self-Service link which is mentioned in the registration procedure given above
  • If you are logging through the Accounting Information Management System link, enter your User Name and Password 
  • Then click Submit, and you will get a successful login
  • If you are logging through the Employee Self-Service link, enter your Email ID and Password. Don’t forget to verify your Email ID in this step. (To verify your email ID, go to your respective email and check for the Email sent to you by the Railway authorities)
  • Now, once you log into your AIMS profile, you will get access to all information related to your salary. Employees can check their salary slips, payslips, bio-data, loans and advances, income tax, leave, NPS, and more.

Recovery of AIMS Forgotten Password 

There’s a chance that employees can forget their passwords. Without your password, you cannot log in to your AIMS profile. It is ok even if you forgot your password as here, we will see a detailed procedure on how to recover your forgotten password. 

  • Employees can recover their password either by clicking the Accounting Information Management System link or through the Employee Self-Service link
  • However, the first step remains the same the employees should visit the  official website of the AIMS portal
  • By clicking either of the above-given links, employees can view the ‘Forgot Password’ link on the concerned web page
  • After clicking the Forgot Password link, you will have to enter your user ID, mobile number, and date of birth in case of both the Accounting Information Management System link and the Employee Self-Service link
  • Now click the submit button after entering the correct credentials
  • Then the verification of your details takes place and a new password will be generated which will be sent to your registered mobile number 
  • Now you should enter the regenerated new password in the given space for verification
  • Following the verification, now the new password is ready to use in your login process
  • At last, a new web page opens on your screen in which you can log in with your user id and new password.

Download Salary Payslip on the AIMS Portal

If employees wish to download their Payslips, they can easily do so by following the simple steps given below

  • Employees should visit the  official website of the AIMS railway portal
  • Then, the Employee Self-Service Link will appear on the homepage of the AIMS portal
  • Click the above link as appearing on the AIMS portal homepage
  • A new web page will appear on your screen
  • Fill in the required credentials like employee number and password, and you will be successfully logged in
  • After you log in, a SALARY option will appear on your screen along with the following options such as salary/monthly/yearly summary/supplementary income 
  • Employees can click on their desired option and download salary payslips for the selected month or the particular financial year 
  • Fill in the required details if any 
  • And now you can get the full information related to your payslips based on the option you chose
  • Lastly, employees can download the payslip in PDF format for further reference. The print option is also available, which allows you to take a hard copy of your payslip.

Employees can also download their payslips through the RESS app. The procedure for downloading your payslip on the RESS app is also similar to the process given above in the case of the AIMS online portal. Download and visit the RESS app. After logging in, follow the same procedure given above to download your payslip successfully. 

Check Supplier Bill Status on the AIMS Portal

Employees can check supplier bill status by visiting the AIMS portal. Follow the easy steps given below to check the supplier bill status:

  • After opening the AIMS portal’s official website, you will see the Supplier Bill Status link on the homepage
  • Click this link and a web page with credentials such as Railway and Date will appear 
  • Fill in the required credentials and click Go
  • Now you can view the supplier’s bill status for the given credentials 

AIMS Mobile App

The Accounts and Finance Department of Indian Railways made things even easier for all the Indian Railway employees by introducing the AIMS mobile application which is known as the Railway Employee Self Service (RESS) app. With this Android mobile app, now employees can access their data, either through a mobile smartphone or computer, anytime, anywhere.

Getting Started With the RESS App

  • Employees can download the RESS app through the Google Play Store
  • All you have to do is visit the Google Play Store enter RESS in the search option and select the official RESS app launched by the Indian Railways
  • Now click install and give some time to download the RESS app 
  • Employees can also install the RESS mobile app by visiting the official AIMS portal
  • After opening the AIMS portal, click the RESS Mobile app link as appears on the homepage
  • Then you will be directed to a new web page of Google Play Store where you can click the install option for the RESS app and let it download for a few minutes 
  • After installing the RESS mobile app on your smartphone, you can register yourself on this mobile app by following the same Registration Procedure as mentioned above for the AIMS online portal
  • The registration procedure for both the RESS app and the AIMS railway portal is similar
  • However, employees need to send their consent to the SMS server by sending an SMS with the content ‘SMS START’ to the number – 08860622020 
  • Now this SMS alert is mandatory as per TRAI guidelines and also since the initial password is sent to the employee’s mobile 
  • Remember that without the subscription to SMS alert, the employees cannot receive the initial password and also, they will not be able to use the RESS mobile app

Contents of the RESS Mobile App

The railway employees can now get access to the following data given below upon installing the RESS mobile app. These are the contents employees will view on the RESS mobile app which are given below:

  • The homepage of RESS consists of category options such as Bio-Data, Salary, NPS, Provident Fund (PF), Loans and Advances, Income Tax, Leave, Family, etc
  • In the User Bio-Data, the sub-options under this section include Personal Details, Job-Related, and Pay-Related
  • In the Salary option, employees can download payslips, salary slips, and more for a monthly or yearly period
  • The supplementary payments will also appear per financial year-wise
  • In the NPS option, all the recoveries that took place during the financial year are included
  • In the PF option, the PF summary for the concerned financial year, PF Ledger, and status of PF application will appear on the screen
  • In the Loans and Advances option, all the related details such as loan type, name, total installment, recovery rate, start month, recovered installment, and more will be included here
  • In the Income Tax option, income tax details along with the deductions and projections can be seen
  • The leave balances such as ‘leave on average pay’, travel allowance, and family details can be seen in the respective categories
  • The user’s recent online activities can also be viewed on the RESS app

File Grievances and Track Status

The railway employees have the right to file any of their grievances and track the status of their grievances. Check below to know the same.

File Grievances on the AIMS Portal

The following procedure for filing grievances on the AIMS portal is as follows: 

  • Visit the official website of the AIMS railway portal as the first step
  • On the homepage of the portal, a separate link with the name Public Grievances will appear on your screen
  • Click this link and select the Lodge Public Grievance option 
  • Enter your login credentials or create a login ID if not already
  • Now, a grievance form will appear on your screen
  • Lodge your concerned grievance and fill in any other required details in the grievance form
  • Make sure only to lodge a grievance that falls into the scope of grievance as per the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances
  • Now click submit. 

Track The Status of Your Grievances

After lodging your grievances, you can easily track them by checking the simple steps as follows:

  • First, go to the official website of the AIMS portal
  • Click on the Public Grievances link as appears on the homepage 
  • Now you will be directed to a new webpage which is the official website of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances
  • Then click on the View Status option which is the first thing you will see just below the name of the department
  • After clicking the view status, you should fill in the required credentials such as Registration Number, Email id or Mobile Number, and Security Code
  • Make sure to fill all the mandatory fields marked with a red color asterisk
  • Click submit, and you can see the status of your grievances easily.
