- First, go to the official website of EPFO . You will be directed to the home page.
- On this page, you will see the option that says ‘Important Links’. Click on that
- A new set of option will appear. Amongst these options will be one caled ‘Activate UAN’. Click on that.
- After clicking on the option you will be redirected to a new page where a form will open.
- All the information asked in this form like applicant’s name, address, date of birth, mobile number etc. will have to be filled.
- If you do not have UAN with you while filling the form then you can alternatively use PAN number or Aadhaar number. Ensure that the field for the mobile number is filled with the registered mobile number.
- After filling all the information correctly in the form, click on ‘Get Authorization Pin’.
- After clicking on this option, you will come to the next page where you will have to fill the income OTP on mobile by accepting the terms and conditions of EPFO.
- This OTP will have to be filled in the OTP box and click on Validate OTP and Activate UAN. If you have got your UAN activated on the next page or your UAN is already activated.
- In both the cases, your UAN has been activated and you can avail all the services of EPFO through your UAN.
Activation Through Mobile App
- First of all, you have to go to the App store of your phone and download the ‘UMANG’ app.
- After installing the App, you have to open the application, then a page will open in front of you, on which you will see an option that says ‘Member’. Click on that.
- After clicking on this option, a new page will open in front of you, where you will see the option to ‘Activate UAN’. Click on it.
- After clicking on the option, a form will open in front of you. You will have to fill in all the information asked in it like employment number, EPF number, UAN number etc.
- After filling all the information in the form, click on ‘Proceed’.
- On the next page you will have to fill out an OTP which will come on your registered mobile phone. After filling OTP your UAN will be activated.
Activation Via SMS
- Create a new message on your registered mobile phone. Enter the following text in the message.
- After drafting this msg, send it to +91 7738 299 899. When the EPFO server receives your message, you will get a confirmation message.
- After this process is completed, your UAN will be activated soon.
Checking Status Of UAN Activation
You can check the status of UAN activation using the following steps.
- First of all you have to go to the official website . After visiting the official website, the home page will open in front of you.
- On this home next, you will see the option of ‘Know Your UAN’ under ‘Important Links’. You have to click on this option.
- After clicking on the option, the next page will open in front of you. On this page you have to fill in your registered mobile number, captcha code etc.
- Click on the button that says ‘Request OTP’.
- Once you receive the OTPAnd then you have to fill OTP and then click on the search button.
- After this the status of UAN will be displayed in front of you.
