Punjab Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana

The Punjab sarbat sehat Bima Yojana was launched by the chief minister of Punjab to uplift the underprivileged. The main objective of initiating this Yojana is to provide access to all the people in Punjab to free medical services. The state’s underprivileged residents will be given access to cashless healthcare so they can visit the hospital for exams and procedures without worrying about money.

Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana 8 Mobile Teams To Make E-Cards

In this scheme, the applicant receives an examined e-cards.

15 Lakh More Families Covered

The Punjab cabinet authorised the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana’s free insurance coverage for 15 lakh additional families on 17 September 2021. Before, the programme did not provide coverage for these families. Captain Amrinder Singh, the Chief Minister, made this choice during a virtual meeting where the State Health Department recommended including these families in the programme on a co-sharing basis. The family must split the cost with other families, but the Punjabi government has chosen to bear the entire cost for the families. Now, 55 lakh families would be covered at a total yearly cost of ₹593 crore by the state government, allowing for a ₹5 lakh per family insurance cover for secondary and tertiary treatment in accredited public and private hospitals.

The government has tasked the Health and Family Welfare Department with creating the enrollment process for qualified families.

Increase In Treatment Rates For Empanelled Private Hospitals

As you are all aware, the people of Punjab now have access to health insurance thanks to the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana. On 25 May 2021, Punjab’s Balbir Singh Sindhu, Minister of Health, made the announcement that all Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana recipients would receive free treatment for covid-19 in all accredited private hospitals. Previously, this program’s empanelled private hospital had treatment charges ranging from ₹1800 to ₹4500. The Punjab government has recently raised these prices for covid-19 treatment since the central government imposed them. The new daily charges range from ₹8000 to ₹18000.

Beneficiaries To Get Free Covid-19 Treatment

The cap charges (which include beds, PPE Kits, medications, investigations, consumables, nursing care, monitoring, doctor’s fees, oxygen, etc.) will be deducted from the costs that the insurance company will pay for treatment, and the state government will then determine the difference in treatment costs. The recipients of this programme are not required to obtain a referral form from public hospitals in order to receive care for COVID-19. They can receive covid-19 treatment right away at the accredited private hospital. All of the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana recipients will now receive free treatment for covid-19.

12702 Patients Gets Benefit Of Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana

Under this programme, 12702 patients in the district have access to cashless treatment options. The Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana now covers the treatment of major illnesses including cancer and neurosurgery, among others.

  1. These days, this programme also includes amenities like MRI and CT scan machines. This programme covers over 12 public hospitals in the district, including Tarn Taran Civil Hospital, Patti, Khadoor Sahib, Sarhali, Kasel, Kairon, Jhabbal, Ghariala, Khem Karan, Mianwind, Naushehra Pannu, and Sursingh Community Health Center
  2. The Market Committee Tarn Taran, Jhabbal, Naushera Pannu, Patti, Bhikhiwind, Harike port, Khadur Sahib, and Khemkaran can be contacted by all beneficiaries who wish to create their electronic cards. In order to create e-cards, the beneficiaries can also get in touch with counsellors, sarpanchs, Asha workers, or Anganwadi workers.

Beneficiaries to Enrol in Six Months 

The administration has sped up the process for generating e-cards under this plan. Nearly 46 lakh e-cards have been distributed thus far.

  1. By holding a camp at the village level in each district, the administration plans to speed up the creation of e-cards
  2. The concerned departments will set up these camps, and all qualified families will receive e-cards that have been prepared
  3. All Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana beneficiaries will be covered for six months by the establishment of special centres that will produce Ecards
  4. In order to register all the farmers under this programme, the Punjab Mandi Board has further mandated to set up camps at the market committee
  5. Additionally, the excise and revenue department has been given the go-ahead to plan an awareness campaign for the program’s small business beneficiaries.

COVID-19 Insurance

An announcement on the insurance for front-line employees during the COVID-19 Crises has been made in Punjab. Included in this are sanitation employees, Safai Karamcharis, ward boys, doctors, Asha workers, specialists, paramedics, technicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. In the event of an accident, the beneficiary would receive compensation in the sum of ₹50 lakh. This programme went into effect after 30 April 2020 and is valid for 90 days.

Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana Update

As you are all aware, the government has made the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana implementation process available. The health secretary of Punjab, Hussain Lal, conducted a virtual conference with the representatives of the Faridkot district. The Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana implementation process has been discussed during this conference. The authorities have been instructed to inform the public of the advantages of this programme. Amit Kumar, special secretary and CEO of health, reviewed this plan with the deputy commissioners of every district in the state. In order for the participants of the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana to receive the greatest advantage, he has ordered that all of the milestones under the programme be met on time.

Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana Cards

All people who possess a smart ration card, labourers registered with the labour department, farmers recognised and in possession of a yellow card, journalists, excise and small traders registered with the tax department, etc. would benefit from the Sehat Sarbat Bima Yojana. Up to ₹5 lakh will be treated without the use of cash. The recipients must create cards in order to receive the reward. They will receive cashless service thanks to these cards. The hospital will give clients with cashless care up to ₹5 lakhs if they present these cards upon receiving treatment. By paying a fee of ₹30, these cards would create service centres.

Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana Service Centres

Card-making services will be offered starting on February 17 at Type 1 Service Centers, starting on 22 February  at Type 2 Service Centers, and starting on 26 February at Type 3 Service Centers. In addition to the service centres, card-making services will also be offered at Common Service Centers On business days, these cards will be produced from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Beneficiaries can call the Health Department’s helpline at (844) 104 if they need any additional information on the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana. As of now, the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana has produced 1,29,274 cards. The endeavour to reach as many beneficiaries as possible with this benefit

₹912.81 Crore Provided To The Beneficiaries Till Now

In the last two years, 8.06 lakh patients have received free treatment worth ₹912.81 crore through the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana. Balbir Singh Sidhu, the Punjab’s health minister, gave this information at a state-level event hosted at the Kisan Vikas chamber in Mohali. To mark the beginning of the third year of this programme, this event was held.

 This programme has been introduced in Punjab to provide for all of the secondary and tertiary level students’ medical needs. The benefits of this programme have been received by more than 8 lakh people. Among these 80,000 persons, 13940 patients received heart surgery, 4964 underwent knee and hip replacements, 12133 underwent cancer treatment, and 203135 underwent dialysis.

1579 Treatment Packages Under Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana

In the previous two years, e-cards have been distributed to more than 71 lakh beneficiaries of the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana. There are 898 hospitals, both public and private, that the government has accredited. Through this programme, the participants may obtain indoor hospitalisation for about 1579 treatment plans. This programme benefits all families who are recorded in the 2011 socio-economic census, including farmers holding J forms, sugar cane weight slip holders, registered construction workers, small business owners, yellow card holders, and accredited journalists.

SBI General Insurance Chosen To Service Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana

The Punjab government has picked the State Bank of India general insurance to administer the Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana. The business will be crucial in increasing the availability of health insurance across the state. The least privileged portion will receive special coverage from the SBI General Insurance Company. Suraksha and Bharosa will offer the state’s inhabitants cashless treatment for up to ₹5 lakh through this programme. This programme will assist around 40 lakh Punjabi families that qualify.

Incentives Under Sarbat Sehat Yojana

  4. A treatment strategy calls for spending money on pre-hospitalisation for three days and post-hospitalisation for fifteen days

Types Of Beneficiaries Under Sarbat Sehat Yojana

The different categories of beneficiaries are as follows

  1. 2.38 lakh construction employees are employed by the construction welfare board. 0.46 lakh families are classified as small traders by the excise & taxation department of the Punjab government
  2. 14.86 lakh SECC NFSA Ration Card holders and 20.43 lakh Smart Ration Card holders
  3. Farmers in J-Form: 4.94 lakh Holders of J-Forms under the Punjab Mandi Board; 2.76 lakh Small and Marginal Farmers Holders of J-Forms under the Punjab Mandi Board; 4700 journalists are accredited and possess a yellow card, according to PUNMEDIA and the Punjabi government.
