PF Payment Procedure Online

  1. Login to the EPFO portal:
  • Visit the EPFO website: https://unifiedportal-emp.epfindia.gov.in/epfo/
  • Log in using your Electronic Challan cum Return (ECR) credentials.

  • Select “Payment” from the dropdown menu.
  • Choose “ECR Upload”.
  • Select the wage month, salary disbursal date, and rate of contribution.
  • Upload the ECR file containing employee details and contribution amounts.

  • After successful validation, click “Pay”.
  • Choose “Online” as the payment mode.
  • Select your bank and complete the payment process.
  • You’ll receive an electronic payment slip and confirmation.

  1. PF Payment Due Date: 15th of the following month
  2. PF Return Filing Due Date (Monthly): 25th of the following month
  3. Annual PF Return Filing Due Date: 30th April of the following financial year

What is the due date for PF payment?

The due date for employers to deposit the combined employee and employer contributions to the EPF account is the 15th of the following month. For example, the PF contribution for November should be deposited on or before December 15th.

What is the penalty for late PF payment?

Suppose the PF contributions are not deposited by the due date. In that case, the employer and employee are liable to pay a late payment penalty. The penalty is 12% per annum on the outstanding amount for each day of delay.

What is the minimum period for a provident fund?

There is no minimum period for contributing to the PF. However, you become eligible for certain benefits, like full PF withdrawal, after completing five years of service in an establishment covered under the EPF Act.

Can I withdraw my PF in 6 months?

  • Umang App: Download the Umang app on your smartphone and link your UAN for PF balance information.
  • SMS: Send an EPFOHO to 9970826488 to receive your balance details.
