Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, officially launched the Pragyan Bharati Scheme scooter distribution ceremony for 35,800 deserving children. The ceremony was held following the Dr. Banikanta Kakati Merit Award, where 6,052 boys and 29,748 girls from Kamrup and Kamrup (Metro) had achieved scores of 75% or higher and 60% or higher, respectively.
In the most recent higher secondary exams administered by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, they were recognised and rewarded with scooters.
