1. This program’s principal goals are to stop child marriage and early marriage and to encourage girls in West Bengal to enroll in elementary school. Eligibility Requirements For The Kanyashree Prakalpa Scheme’s Yearly Scholarship (K1 Level)

  1. The female must be between the ages of 13 and 17;
  2. She should not be wed;
  3. Students enrolled in technical or vocational courses in grades 8 through 12 in government-recognized regular schools or any other equivalent institution are eligible to apply for this level of scholarship;
  4. Students may apply for this scholarship if their family’s annual income is less than or equivalent to 1,20,000;
  5. The family income requirement may not be used to determine eligibility for a scholarship if the girl has a physical disability that results in a 40% disability or if both of her parents have passed away. 

Eligibility Requirements For The Kanyashree Scheme’s One-Time Award (K2 Level)

  1. This scholarship is open to adult girls between the ages of 18 and 19;
  2. The woman did not get married until she was 18;
  3. The girl should be enrolled in and frequently attend a higher education institution;
  4. The family income should be less than or equivalent to Rs. 1,20,000 per year, except for physically disabled girls (40% disability), children of deceased parents, and J.J. Home inmates.

Eligibility for West Bengal Kanyashree Scheme

  1. The girl should live in West Bengal and not be married
  2. Girls aged 13 to 18 from 
  3. Families earning less than ₹1,20,000 per year can apply
  4. If a girl’s parents have passed away or if one parent is 40% or more physically challenged, the income limit doesn’t apply to her
  5. The girl should be studying regular subjects or doing vocational or sports training
  6. Girls between 18 to 19 years old from Child Care institutes listed under the J.J. Act of 2000 can also apply
  7. For the one-time grant, the girl should turn 18 years old on or after 1 April 2013.

The program helps around eighteen lakh girls every year by giving them scholarships. Additionally, about 3.5 lakh girls receive a one-time grant.

Applications And Requirements How To Apply For An Annual Scholarship From The Kanyashree Scheme (K1 Level)

Requirements

Age verification (copy of birth certificate), a declaration statement attesting to the fact that the applicant is “unmarried,” an income statement, a photocopy of the bank passbook, a copy of the girl’s disability certificate (in the case of disabled girls), and a certification from the institution’s head attesting to the applicant’s enrollment and regular attendance. The girl needs to have a bank account before applying for the scholarship.

K3 Practice

  1. The girl should pick up an application form from J.J. and the appropriate educational institution. Homes (for its convicts) (for its inmates). The K1 and K2 application forms can also be completed and submitted online.
  2. The girl must fill out the form with her contact information, residential address, and school address.
  3. The form must be signed by the girl and her parents and sent to the relevant institution with the necessary paperwork.
  4. The department head must verify the form’s information before it can be officially approved.
  5. The child will receive an acknowledgment slip and an application number, both of which she must keep monitoring the status of her application at a later time.
  6. All information will be posted on the Kanyashree website after completing the application form.

The banking partner will assist the applicant in opening a bank account after it has been accepted. According to the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India Act, the report may be opened in a Scheduled bank. Once awarded, the scholarship money is transferred into the girl’s account. You must complete the same steps and submit all the required documents, except the income statement, to renew the annual scholarship.

To encourage girls to pursue higher education, West Bengal’s honorable chief minister Mamta Bannerjee launched the third level (K3) of the Kanyashree Scholarship on 28 July 2017. You must first be registered for the K2 level scholarship to be eligible for the K3 level award. Additionally, to enroll in a postgraduate program at any university, you must complete your undergraduate degree with at least 45% of the required grades. The monthly scholarship allowance for science students is 2500, whereas it is 2000 for art students.

The West Bengal Kanyashree Prakalpa has two sections: First, every year, each girl child gets a scholarship of ₹1000. In the past, it was  ₹500, but now it has been increased to ₹1000. This fund is given to unmarried girls between the ages of 13 and 18 who meet certain conditions.

  1. The girl who can get help from the Kanyashree Scheme should be in any class from VIII to XII
  2. She should go to a school that the government recognizes. She can also be a student of an open school 
  3. She can apply if she is doing vocational training, sports training, or lives in a home registered under the J.J. Act 2000.

  • Step 2: Look for the ‘Track Application’ button and click on it
  • Step 3: Choose the right year and type of scheme from the choices

  • Step 5: Click the submit button.

Renewal of Annual Scholarship

To apply again for a scholarship, you need to follow the same steps as when you first applied. You have to give all the papers except the income certificate. They will carefully check all the papers and the application, just like before.
