Jagananna Smart Town Scheme 2024 – Objectives, Advantages, Eligibility & Documents

The government of Andhra Pradesh has launched the Jagananna Smart Town Scheme which provides residential plots to middle class families. Introduction of Official Website of the Jagananna Smart Town Scheme 

Citizens of Andhra Pradesh can register for this plan via the official website, which the Chief Minister announced from the Tadepalli camp office on 11 January 2022. This website will take layout applications in Anantapur’s Dharmavaram, Guntur’s Mangalagiri, Kadapa’s Rayachoti, Prakasam’s Kandukur, Nellore’s Kavali, and West Godavari’s Eluru. The first phase of this programme has already commenced with the construction of 15.6 lakh dwellings. Citizens with an annual income of less than ₹18 lakhs are eligible to enrol for this plan.

There will be three types of plots available under this Jagananna Smart Town Scheme: 150 square yards, 200 square yards, and 240 square yards. The administration plans to roll out this programme over the entire state soon. Plots will be allocated in a transparent way via a computerised lottery, independent of caste, region, religion, or political affiliation.

The Jagananna Smart Town Scheme’s Objectives

The Jagananna Smart Town Scheme’s major goal is to give residential plots to middle-income households. This method will allow them to achieve their ambition of buying their own home. Everyone who qualifies can bid for plots in the township by paying 10% of the total price. The first instalment of the plot will be 30% of the total cost and will be due one month after the agreement, another instalment of 30% will be due six months later, and the remaining 30% will be due at the time of plot registration. 

Around 10% of the plots in the township will be designated for government employees who do not own a home, and they will receive a 20% discount. The township will be built in accordance with municipal planning guidelines. 50% of the plan space will be dedicated to public amenities such as parks, schools, playgrounds and banks.

Towns will feature BT roads that are 60 feet wide, CC roads that are 40 feet wide, pathways, colour tiles, and Avenue plantings. Corpus funding will be established for the layout’s upkeep. The blueprints will be handed over to the owners after the work is completed. The first instalment of the pattern, which would be constructed in Navaluru near Mangala Giri, had 538 plots. Beneficiaries will receive a clear title document as well as town and rural planning permission. These plots will be in accordance with the norms of the real estate regulating authorities.

Criteria for Eligibility of  Jagananna Smart Town Scheme

  1. The applicant must be an Andhra Pradesh permanent resident.
  2. The applicant’s total family income cannot exceed ₹18 lakhs.
  3. The candidate must be at least 18 years old.
  4. A single household will be given only one plot.
