What Are the Gst Enrollment Eligibility Criteria?
The categories and criteria for GST status and registering in GST in India are as follows.
Turnover in Total
Any service provider that delivers services worth more than ₹20 lakhs in a calendar year is needed to register for GST. This maximum is ₹10 lakhs in special category states. Any firm involved in the exclusive supply of products with an annual turnover of more than ₹40 lakhs is needed to register for GST.
Regardless of their aggregate turnover, an organisation must register for GST if they supply goods interstate, from one state to another. Inter-state service companies must register for GST only if their yearly sales exceed ₹20 lakhs. (This maximum is ₹10 lakhs in special category states).
Platform for E-commerce
Anyone who sells products or services through an e-commerce platform must register for GST in India. Regardless of turnover, the individual must register. As a result, vendors on Flipkart, Amazon, and other e-commerce platforms must obtain registration before they can begin selling.
Casual Taxable Individuals
Any person who supplies products or services seasonally or intermittently through a temporary stand or shop must register for GST. The individual must apply regardless of the annual aggregate turnover.
Registration on a Whim
Any entity can voluntarily register for GST: https://www.gst.gov.in/. Previously, any entity that voluntarily obtained GST could not surrender the registration for up to a year. However, after changes, the applicant can cancel their voluntary GST Enrollment.

This category of GST enrollment is for taxpayers who do business in India. Taxpayers who register as regular taxpayers do not need to make a deposit and have an indefinite validity date.
To become a Composition Taxpayer, an individual must enroll in the GST Composition Scheme. Taxpayers who participate in the Composition Scheme can pay a fixed GST rate. The taxpayer, however, would be unable to claim the input tax credit.
Casual Taxable Individual
Any taxpayer who opens a booth or seasonal shop must register as a Casual Taxable Person. The taxpayer must make a deposit equal to GST liabilities to register as a casual taxable person. The responsibility must correspond to the active registration periods. The registration will be active for three months.
Non-Resident Taxable Individual
Individuals residing outside of India are classified as non-resident taxable persons. Taxpayers should also provide products or services to Indian residents. The taxpayer must make a deposit equal to GST liabilities to register as a casual taxable person. The responsibility must correspond to the active registration periods. The registration will be active for three months.
