BC Sakhi Yojana: Background
- Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, launched the BC Sakhi Yojana on May 22, 2020, to benefit the women residents of the state. The state government will provide employment possibilities for women in the state through this scheme. In order to do so the government has planned to deploy Banking Correspondent Sakhi in rural regions as part of this scheme. This means that rural residents will no longer have to travel to the bank because “Sakhi” would deliver their money to their door.
- What this implies is that the new UP Banking Correspondent Sakhi Scheme will help rural women work for a living. These women (Banking Correspondent Sakhi), will be given an amount of ₹ 4 thousand per month by the government for 6 months. Apart from this, women will also get a commission on transactions made in the bank. This will ensure that they earn a fixed income every month.
- To elaborate further, the Uttar Pradesh government will give banking services to individuals in about 58189- gram panchayats through the BC Sakhi scheme. The Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission will pick BC Sakhi (female aspirants) for 3534-gramme panchayats for making this scheme a success. In this initiative, women who belong to self-help groups will be given preference in hiring. All ladies who wish to apply for this plan must do so by June 10, 2022. BC Sakhi Yojana: Income to Women

BC Sakhi Yojana: Eligibility
- Women under this scheme must be Uttar Pradesh natives and should have passed the 10th grade to be eligible

- The candidates must also be financially capable

BC Sakhi Yojana: Registration Process
The government has launched a mobile app to help women apply under this scheme;
- To begin, the beneficiaries must navigate to the Google Play Store option on their Android device. The BC Sakhi App can be found using the Google Play Store’s search bar
- After searching for the app, you must click on the app’s link and then download the BC Sakhi App
- On the home page displayed in front of you, enter your phone number. Following that, a 6-digit OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number, which you must register.
- Following this, some instructions will appear on your screen. You must carefully read all of the instructions before clicking Next
- You will then be taken to a new page after clicking Next. Here, you must select Basic Profile, and then enter all of the requested information. After completing the data, click Save and submit it.
- Likewise, you must enter the information requested in each section before clicking the submit button
- Now you must submit all the relevant documents required by the application form
- Following this you will be required to answer some simple questions, all of which will be multiple choice. The questions will be simple and be based on Hindi Grammar, Mathematics, and English.
- When the application process is complete, you will be notified via the app. The app will notify both selected candidates and those who have not been selected.
