In 2020, the Assamese word for “the rising sun,” Orunodoi, was established with a focus on the community of economically disadvantaged women. It helped more than 17 lakh people. All application forms will have been gathered and uploaded to the authorised portal by February 28. Older males living in nursing facilities may also be included in arunodoi 2.0 with the approval of the neighborhood DC and the district’s guardian minister. A unique money will be given to each DC, which will be utilised to distribute the needed funds to these recipients.

Goals of the Assam Orunodoi 2.0 Scheme

The Assam Orunodoi online apply primary goal is to provide significant economic support to the state’s low-income households to improve their quality of life. The Orunodoi Scheme aims to end poverty and socially and economically integrate the state’s financially disadvantaged households. It is accomplished through DBT’s sustained financial assistance, utilising monthly cash transfers. The following are the two goals of the Assam Arunodoi Scheme:-

  1. Women’s economic empowerment
  2. To fulfill our commitment to sustainable development goals, we must remove the poor from BPL (SDG).

The Assam Orunodoi Scheme would provide a minimum monthly income flow to those who are less fortunate. The other goal is to reduce the number of different schemes and combine them using the DBT platform for better results and service.

Orunodoi Scheme in Assam’s 2023–24 Budget

This is an extraordinary development milestone that our government has attained, and it has had a variety of positive effects, including economic empowerment, financial literacy, expanding nutritional support, and, most importantly, bringing development into every single house and heart.

“A committed transfer of 1,000 to around 20 lakh beneficiaries is presently underway,” the finance minister stated. Every month on the 10th, this transfer is automatically credited to the recipient’s accounts. This continues to be one of the Government of Assam’s top women-centric flagship projects. By this, the Finance Minister sets aside 2000 crore for this program till Supplementary Demand.
