  1. Go to your nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre. 
  2. Request for an Aadhaar Enrolment or Aadhaar Correction form.
  3. Duly fill out the form and double-check all the details before submitting.
  4. Get the form authorised using an introducer.
  5. Make sure the introducer has been identified and notified by the Regional Registrar
  6. After authorisation, submit the form to the officials at the office.
  7. Next, provide them with your biometric data and photograph.
  8. You will now receive an acknowledgement slip with an enrolment ID you can use to track your request.

In most cases, you will receive your Aadhaar card by post in 90 days to your residential address.

Who Is An Aadhaar Introducer?

An Aadhaar introducer is essentially someone who has been identified and notified by either the Registrar or the officers at a regional Aadhaar/UIDAI office. The personal and contact details of such introducers will be a part of UIDAI’s Central Identities Data Repository, better known as the CIDR.  Hence, the main aim of the introducer is to help introduce eligible residents to the Aadhaar Enrolment centre if they do not have the required ID proofs. As a result, they help the UIDAI reach out to more eligible citizens and get more people valid ID proof in the form of an Aadhaar. They work under a registrar who is tasked with regulating and hiring them. However, an introducer can only work within a region in which he has been appointed. Although, they do have the power to introduce eligible candidates to other state-approved introducers from other areas and localities. 

Who Are Eligible Residents?

As per the Aadhaar Act of 2016, an eligible resident is anyone who has the power to apply for an Aadhaar legally. To be able to do so, the individual must have lived in India for at least 182 days in the previous year. In such cases, the resident can Apply for Aadhaar card in the coming year.   3. Elected Representative
  4. Postman
  5. Teacher
  6. Doctor
  7. ASHA worker
  8. Representatives from local NGOs can also volunteer to become introducers for the UIDAI.

What Are The Responsibilities Of An Introducer?

  2. However, the introducer must also ensure the accuracy of the information provided on the enrolment or Correction form.
  3. The introducer should be easily accessible to anyone within his or her region.

  6. The introducer should only introduce eligible residents who do not have the required documents.

What Are The Restrictions Of An Introducer?

  1. The introducer should not introduce someone who impersonates others
  2. Also, The introducer must not introduce people who are trying to assume fake identities knowingly
  3. The introducer should not provide fake biometric data in any case
  4. In case the introducer is found guilty of any of these, strict action will be taken against them.

Hof Enrolment

Another way you can Apply for Aadhaar card if you do not have the required documents is through the Head of Family enrolment. This works if specific individuals of a family do not have the required documents, but the elders do. Hence, in this situation, the Aadhaar enrolment will happen after furnishing the following details and documents;

  1. Head of the Family’s name
  2. Proof of relationship between applicant and HoF:
  3. PDS Card
  4. ESIC/ECHS/CGHS medical document
  5. Pension Card
  6. Passport
  7. MNREGA Card
  8. Marriage Certificate
  9. Birth Certificate
  10. HoF’s Aadhaar number 
  11. HoF’s biometric details and other personal details

Such a procedure is possible only if the applicant’s name exists in a family document, such as the ration card. In such cases, the HoF acts as an introducer, helping members of his or her family obtain an Aadhaar, even without all the required documents.
