Students should note that Pre Matric means up to the class 10 education. The pre-matric scholarships provide financial assistance to the students studying at the pre-matriculation level, i.e., from class 1 to class 10. Post Matric means after the class 10 education level. So, the post-matric scholarships provide financial support to the students or candidates studying at the post-secondary or post-matriculation level, i.e., after class 10. So, this scholarship is intended to provide financial support to post-matriculation students. 

Eligibility Criteria

Only the candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria given below can apply for this scholarship:

• The applicant should be from the state of Bihar and studying in the post-matric class
• The student should be studying a recognised post-matriculation course at a state or central accredited institution
• The student must be from BC or EBC category
• The family’s annual income should not exceed ₹ 1.5 lakh
• Students already having scholarships from any institution are not eligible for this scholarship
• If the student cleared a previous/existing course under this scholarship, any future equivalent course is not eligible under the same scholarship

Chief Minister Kanya Utthan Yojana (Graduation)

CM Kanya Utthan Yojana or CM girl child education promotion scheme is exclusively launched for promoting girl child education and women empowerment in the state. Only the girl students are allowed to register under this scheme. This scheme is a significant stepping stone for girl child education in India. Yearly a total of ₹ 25000 is given to the girl students who applied for this scheme.

Those who cleared the Bihar Board graduation exam in 2022 from any Bihar university are eligible.

Mukhyamantri Balak/Balika Protsahan Yojana

• The annual family income must be under the threshold limit of  ₹ 1.5 lakhs
• The applicant must be from the backward category

Bihar CCB Scholarship 

The Bihar Combined Counselling Board (CCB) scholarship is offered exclusively to candidates pursuing diploma, degree or PG (postgraduate-level) courses. Along with the scholarship, an additional incentive amount of INR 1 lakh to INR 3 lakh is given to all eligible candidates. The Combined Counselling Board provides this scholarship.

• The applicant should get at least 40% to 50% marks in the qualifying examination

OBC Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme 

The Bihar Government decided to offer scholarships to students studying in pre-matric class levels from class 1 to class 10 under this scholarship scheme. 

Eligibility Criteria 

• The applicant must be from Other Backward Classes (OBC) category 
• The applicant should study at the pre-matriculation level i.e., class 1 to class 10 
• The applicant should be a resident of Bihar
• The annual family income must be under the limit of INR 1.5 lakh

OBC Post-Graduation Scholarship Scheme

The only difference between this scheme and the OBC Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme is that OBC Post-Graduation Scholarship Scheme exclusively provides scholarships to candidates pursuing post-graduation courses. The above scheme, however, only provides scholarships to students studying pre-matric classes. 

Eligibility Criteria 

• The applicant should be a resident of the Bihar 
• The applicant should come from Other Backward Classes (OBC) category 
• The candidate must be pursuing post-graduation (PG) courses

The application procedure for this scheme is similar to the application procedure explained in the OBC Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme. Students are advised to check once the application procedure is stated in the above scheme. The only difference is that in the above scheme, the students will select classes 1-10 in the qualification area, where the candidates must select the post-graduation (PG) in this scheme. 

Bihar Professional Scholarship

The Bihar Professional Scholarship is exclusively provided to candidates studying specialised courses such as MBA, engineering, hotel management and related courses.

• The candidate must pursue the professional or technical courses

Chief Minister BC Meritocracy Scheme

The amount of ₹ 10000 will be given to the outstanding students for their top performance in academics under this scheme. The reward is given to only the students who belong to Backward Classes (BC) category. This amount is given to the person who attains 1st division in class 10. The motto behind this scholarship is to encourage students, especially students from rural areas, to continue further education.

Chief Minister EBC Meritorious Scheme

Under this scholarship scheme, the amount of ₹ 10000 is awarded to the meritorious students who belong to the Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) category. The only difference between this scheme and the above one is while EBC category students are awarded under this scheme, BC category students are awarded under the above scheme – Chief Minister BC Meritocracy Scheme.

Registered User Login (SC/ST Student)

• Go to the official PMS portal
• On the homepage of the portal, select the Student Section and click on the Registered User Login (SC/ST Student) link 
• Now click on the Login for Already Registered Students Link 
• A Student Login will open
• Enter your User ID, Password and captcha code 
• Now click the Login button and you will be successfully logged in to your account 
• If you are a new scholarship candidate, you can newly register on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) 
• Students can also recover forgotten User IDs and forgotten Password by clicking on the given links on the same student login page 

Registered User Login (BC/EBC Student)

The login process for both SC/ST scholarship students and BC/EBC scholarship students is pretty much similar. However, the students from SC/ST categories are advised to log in through SC/ST link and the students from BC/EBC categories can log in through the BC/EBC link given on the PMS portal homepage.

Submit your Grievance (Student/Institution)

• Students can submit their grievances/suggestions by visiting the official PMS portal
• On the homepage of the PMS portal, click the Submit your Grievance link which will appear in the drop-down list of the Student Section 
• Now a grievance form will open 
• Fill in all the mandatory fields like type, name, mobile number, email id, type of grievance, etc.
• After filling in all the mandatory fields, click submit and your grievance will be sent to the concerned authorities 
• The submission of the grievance process for both student and institution is similar with a little change in credentials 
• However, care is to be taken in selecting the type, i.e., if you are a student, then select student type grievance form and if you are an institution, then select institution type grievance form. 

Know your Grievance Status (Student/Institution)

• Go to the official PMS portal
• The Know your Grievance Status process is also same for both student and institution 
• Click the Know your Grievance Status link in either of the student/institution section drop-down lists as per the case
