3. The small business owner should be at least 18 years old.
4. In rural and cities, the trader’s family should make ₹10,000 and ₹12,000, respectively.
5. Also eligible are people who hawk things on the street.
6. People selling groceries on sidewalks, in street carts, and in bicycle, fruit, and vegetable stands are qualified.
7. A social audit will be carried out, and comprehensive eligibility lists will be posted on the notice boards of the ward and village secretariats.
8. The programme is open to anybody with permanent or temporary storage in a village or town 5 feet long and 5 feet broad or smaller.
9. People selling groceries on sidewalks, in street carts, and in bicycle, fruit, and vegetable stands are qualified.
10. Everyone who operates a business using a cart on a public or private street, sidewalk, or other area is eligible.
11. Those who manage tiffin shops alongside the road are qualified.
12. Additionally eligible are those who sell various goods from booths or baskets.

Interest Payment of ₹49.77 billion Under the Scheme

Jagananna Thodu was created because tiny street sellers rarely get loans from banks, and when they do, they pay exorbitant interest rates. To fix this, the government has introduced the Jagan Anna Thodu plan. In this plan, the bank lends money to the recipients, and the government pays the interest on their behalf by depositing money into their accounts. In phases 1 and 2, the government has repaid interest payments of 29.42 crores and 20.35 crores. Beneficiaries have gotten interest reimbursements of 49.77 crores so far.

Loan Disbursement of ₹395 Crores for the Jagananna Thodu Scheme

On Wednesday, 3 August 2023, the interest-free loans were deposited directly into recipients’ bank accounts. There were 395 crores in cash and 15.96 crores in interest refunds. 3.95 lakh people also got fresh loans at no interest from the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Scheme’s coordinator, praised small business owners for their hard work.

3.97 Lakh People Will Benefit From the AP Scheme

According to the Jagananna thodu Scheme, the Andhra Pradesh government will give interest-free loans to 3.97 lakh small merchants. The government reviewed this programme on 2 June 2023 and instructed village and ward secretariats, district collectors, and poverty alleviation agencies to pick the winners.
