According to the new guidelines issued by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, the government will initiate a recovery process from ineligible citizens who have been availing the benefits of the UP Ration Card. The recovery process will involve submitting the Ration Card to either the Block Office or the Office of the District Supply Officer. The district officers have been instructed to comply with these orders. Ineligible citizens will be charged a penalty cost of ₹24 for 1 kg of wheat and ₹32 for 1 kg of rice, which they will have to pay from the time they start taking ration. As per the order, individuals with a pucca house of 1000 square feet or more will have to return their Ration Card to the administration.
