TN RTE Admission 2023

The Government of India has implemented the RTE act across all states to ensure compulsory and free education for all. The act provides free education to students aged 6 to 14, especially those from economically weaker and disadvantaged backgrounds. Additionally, 25% of seats in private schools at the entry level are reserved under the act. 

Interested citizens of Tamil Nadu can apply for the RTE online scheme by filling out the application form in 2023. Schools in Tamil Nadu must update the available seat details on their official website. The TN School Education Department is responsible for the scheme’s implementation. Around 1 lakh seats are available in approximately 9000 schools across the state.

Objective Of TN RTE 2023

TN RTE Admission aims to provide free and compulsory education to all children, particularly those from economically weaker and disadvantaged backgrounds, until they reach 14 years of age. The implementation of RTE Online in Tamil Nadu will not only increase the literacy rate of the state but also generate more employment opportunities. 

Moreover, the RTE 2023 gives priority to disabled children, the offspring of sanitary workers, and HIV-infected individuals, which will improve their overall living conditions.

TN RTE 2023 Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu
  • Children of economically weaker section, disadvantaged group, and disadvantaged group special category parents can apply
  • Preference given to disabled children, wards of scavengers, and HIV infected
  • Annual family income must not exceed ₹ 2 lakh
  • Eligible applicants from BC-others, MBC, ST, SC-others, SC-arunthathiyar, OC, DNC (Denotified communities), and undisclosed social category.

How to Apply Under Tamil Nadu RTE Admission

  • Step 1: Go to the official website of TN RTE Admission 2023
  • Step 2: Click on ‘Start Application’ on the homepage
  • Step 3: Enter the required personal details such as name, gender, date of birth, password, religion, community, mobile number, email ID, and eligibility class as per date of birth
  • Step 4: Click on ‘Save’ and note down the application number displayed on your screen
  • Step 5: Click on ‘Click Here to Login’ and enter your application number and password
  • Step 6: Enter your parent and address details
  • Step 7: Upload all the required documents
  • Step 8: Select schools based on your preference
  • Step 9: Click on ‘Submit’ to complete your application for Tamil Nadu RTE admission.
