The government releases the payment in two instalments to enable students to manage their accommodation and living expenses effectively.

Objectives of Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme

  • The district of East Godavari has the highest number of ITI student beneficiaries, with 6,828 students benefiting from the scheme. 
  • On the other hand, Nellore has the least number of ITI student beneficiaries, with only 2,057 students receiving financial assistance.
  • In terms of polytechnic student beneficiaries, the district of Krishna has the highest number with 14,903 students benefiting from the scheme. 
  • Nellore has the lowest number of polytechnic student beneficiaries with only 3,334 students receiving financial assistance.
  • When it comes to degree and postgraduate students, the district of Chittoor has the highest number of beneficiaries with 1,22,219 students receiving financial assistance through the scheme.

Eligibility for Vasathi Deevena Scheme 2023

To be eligible for the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme in Andhra Pradesh, students must fulfil the following criteria:

  • The student must be a resident of Andhra Pradesh.
  • The student must be enrolled in a post-secondary institution, such as an ITI, polytechnic, or a degree or postgraduate program.
  • The student’s family income must be below the poverty line.
  • The student must not be a recipient of any other similar scholarship scheme.
  • The student must provide the necessary documents, such as an income certificate and Aadhar card, to prove their eligibility.
  • It is required that students maintain a minimum attendance of 75% to be eligible for the scholarship disbursement.
