The Central Government’s Har Ghar Nal Yojana is a scheme that aims to provide clean water to every household in the country.  The initial goal of this scheme was to provide clean water to every household by 2030. However, the deadline has now been changed to 2024.  Har Ghar Nal Yojana is also known as Jal Jeevan Mission. The aim of this yojana is to release 55 liters of potable water per person per day. This scheme will also ensure that clean water is available in rural areas.

Funding Pattern of Har Ghar Nal Scheme 2023

You should know that the projected budget for the Jal Jeevan Mission is ₹60 lakh crore. The central government will fully fund the implementation expenses for the trade unions under this scheme. For all other states, the central and state governments will equally share costs. Furthermore, in the case of the Har Ghar Nal Scheme for the Himalayan and Northeast states, the central government will cover 90% of the costs, while the state government will take care of the remaining 10%.
