Read this blog to understand everything related to the fake website scam of Udyam registration in India.
There are plenty of false registration cases involving the fake website of Udyam. Hence you need to stay alert and learn more about it.
Many websites have cropped up that charge some registration charges promising to generate the certificate in return. In reality, they do not provide anything to you and eventually lose your valuable money. The registered phone number is blocked from their end. We want you to be aware of this fake website.
What Is the Fake Website of Udyam?
Quite a few unauthorised websites exist that are themed to MSME, and thus the citizens of India must be cautioned regarding this matter. The fake website claims to be the official portal of the Indian government and ensures to extend a consultancy solution once you register an account under them.
The authentic Udyam Aadhar portal vividly states that MSME has never hired any individual representative/ agency/ franchise to furnish services. There is no associated consultancy fee for user registration. The concerned state police file a cybercrime case under sections of the IT Act and IPC Section 420 to punish such fake website administrators. Also, they take responsibility for publishing news regarding this type of corruption to curb fraudulent activities to the maximum possible extent.
How Can One Avoid Entering a Fake Website
Since 1 July 2020, MSME has replaced its Udyog Aadhar registration process with Udyam registration. It is for all small and medium-scale enterprises to obtain registration under Udyam for operating in India.
As per the regulations published by the Reserve Bank of India, the lenders must make sure that all of their borrowers are MME registered. Thus it is crucial to know the exact process. Hence the Ministry recommends using various ICT tools and software that help businesses access the right solution. This contributes to their development in productivity and maintains competitiveness in the domestic and international market.
One should keep in mind that Udyam is a single-window service and is designed to provide prompt response and hassle-free registration. You should look for the authentic URL: msme.gov.in. Anything other than that is a red flag.
The Indian government has approved consultancy programs for veterans’ private enterprises in the MME procedures. They make businesses aware of the Indian laws, thus motivating them to execute official formalities easily and without any mistake.
Registering your business with the help of government portals or via offline offices demands excess time and sufficient expertise. Thus, we recommend you complete Udyam registration through the web, as mentioned earlier. Other similar portals appear to be unnecessarily elaborated, which causes hesitation of amateur business owners from diving into the lengthy process. Still, if you wish to do it yourself, we must clarify that the procedure does not involve charges. However, if you take help from expertise or ICT software, then make sure to check its authenticity. They should not charge an amount more than Rs. 1999.
Advantages of Availing Consultation and Completing Registration via ICT Applications
There are a few proven benefits; we have enlisted them for you:
- An authentic private brand provides business data security and eliminates the chances of third-party data access.
- Udyam certification is provided to the eligible entity on time.
- These websites are government approved and thus execute registration process and certification abiding by the national norms. The whole cycle is transparent as policies are available on their site for the viewers’ discretion.
- The genuine portal extends the single-window facility. This is to minimise the hassle involved and also reduce room for mistakes.
- Costs charged by the consultants are never hefty; usually, a 24-hour window is requested to attend to any query put forward by the business owners.
- Round-the-clock service is guaranteed.
A Reported Case of the Fake Website of Udyam
On 22 May 2020, Mr D. Yogesh headed to a fake website of Udyam when he tried to register his new IT business. He belongs to Vijaynagar, and normally to access the benefits of Udyog Aadhar, he decided to enrol his venture under the Union Ministry department of MSME.
He was given a virtual application form, leading him to an online payment gateway. A registration amount of Rs. 1850 was charged from him.
When it was too late, Mr D Yogesh realised that he had probably approached a fake website. He reported the case to West CEN police and complained about cheating without further delay.
The actual registration fee at that time used to be Rs. 650. Instead of selecting the government portal – msme.gov.in, he entered a proxy site reading: MSME-gov.org. There he disclosed valuable business data about his enterprise.
Disciplinary actions were ensured as the police charged legal prosecution against the site controller, filing a case under Section 420 of IPC and various sections relating to the IT Act of India.
