Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana

The Chief Minister of West Bengal has introduced a Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana (BMSSY) to eliminate the need for unorganized workers to contribute to the provident fund. Instead, the state government of West Bengal will make the monthly payment of ₹25 on their behalf. The primary objective of launching the West Bengal Samajik Suraksha Yojana 2022 is to relieve the burden on unorganized workers. This scheme, known as Samajik Suraksha Yojana, is a wonderful initiative by the government of West Bengal to provide benefits to all unorganized workers in the state.

BMSSY Objective

Samajik Suraksha Yojana is a brand-new programme that West Bengal’s Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, has unveiled. This scheme aims to help unorganized workers who are unable to make contributions to the provident fund due to their weak financial situation. Monthly Subscription Of ₹25 Per Month As EPFO Contribution

The West Bengal State Government will make a monthly contribution of ₹25 to the provident fund. This is done to help workers have financial stability and provide them with some money during emergencies.

BMSSY: Audit Management

The State Government is in charge of handling the reports generated by audits every month. They also need to create and submit an annual or audit report to the State Government authorities. The CEO (Chief Executive Officer) has the responsibility of maintaining the budget for the upcoming financial year based on the rules set by the government.

Samajik Suraksha Card Facilitation

BMSSY – Workers who have joined the scheme will receive a Samajik Suraksha Card from the government. This card will have important information about the worker, like their Registration Number. Additionally, each worker with this card will also be given a passbook and SMCs. The SMCs will be created by the Regional Labour Office at the district and sub-division levels.

Who Are Eligible to Avail Benefits Under BMSSY 2024?

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Bihar 
  • The farmer must have cultivatable land.
  • In the case of an actual cultivator + own landholder, the sharecropper must attach a self-declaration along with the land document.

  • The farmer must have an LPC, a land receipt, pedagogy, jamabandi, and a sale letter.
  • The farmer must also have a passport-size photo and  mobile number
  • The amount of subsidy is given through DBT under the Bihar Krishi Input Subsidy Scheme; therefore, money will be sent to your account only if your bank account is linked to your Aadhaar card.

Benefits of BMSSY

  • Under this scheme, farmers in non-irrigated areas will receive a grant of ₹ 6800 per hectare, while farmers in irrigated areas will receive a grant of ₹13500 per hectare.
  • Subsidies will be given at the rate of ₹12,200 per hectare for cultivable land with a sand/silt concentration of more than 3 inches.
  • An affected  farmer can receive a grant for up to two hectares and will receive a minimum grant of ₹1000 under the Agricultural Input Grant Scheme.
