In the state of Andhra Pradesh, the programme has been introduced for small company owners. All tailors, laundromat owners, and hairdressers or barbers operating in the state of Andhra Pradesh would be considered small businessmen. The Jagananna Chedodu Scheme introduction will give all small businesses that depend on tailors, laundrymen, and hairdressers some advantages. The 10,000 incentive will be given annually and help the state of Andhra Pradesh’s economy.

Jagananna Chedodu Scheme Second Tranche

On 8 February 2022, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, introduced the second tranche of the Jagananna Chedodu Scheme. Through this tranche, funds totaling 285.35 crores have been credited to the accounts of 2285350 people from different walks of life, including rajakas, Nayee brahmins, and tailors. 

This money has been transferred through the virtual launch in the Tadepalli camp office. Under this programme, recipients would get a one-time payment of 10,000. The beneficiaries can use this cash to buy supplies like tools and equipment and other necessities. This plan will meet their requirement for investment to expand their source of income and place of employment.

583.78 Crores Transferred Till Now Under JCS

Under this Scheme, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has disbursed 583.78 crores to aid individuals like tailors, washermen, barbers, etc. who have suffered financial losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The funds will be directly transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer system. The beneficiaries will be selected through a survey, and a list of eligible applicants will be compiled by the village and ward secretaries. A social audit will then be conducted to finalize the list of beneficiaries.

Jagananna Chedodu Scheme Budget

On Wednesday, June 10, Andhra Pradesh State Chief Minister YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the cheddar programme by depositing benefits of 10,000 into the accounts of each participant. 2.47 lakh beneficiaries have received a total of 247.04 crores rupees from the state government. This programme will transfer Amounts to the bank accounts of 1.25 lakh tailors, 38,767 Nayee Brahmins, and 82,347 Rajakas. Additionally, the government has decided to make barbers who own a shop eligible for this program’s benefits.
