Rain continues to lash Chennai

– Chennai only gets a little bit of rain during the southwest monsoon season since it is located in the Western Ghats' rain-shadowed zone.  – However, as the northeast monsoon approaches in October, the coastal city records more rain in just two months than it did in the preceding nine.

Special teams have been dispatched for emergency response because Chennai is particularly prone to flooding during the rainy season.  All 15 of the district's zones have control rooms installed. 2.3 lakh streetlights and 7,000 pillar boxes are among the electrical infrastructure that a team of over 2,000 employees is inspecting to make sure they are all functioning properly and avoid electrocution during the rain.

Precaution taken - Chennai

– A few locations in the Chennai, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Ranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, and Salem districts are expected to get severe to very heavy rainfall, according to the Met department's forecast. – Similarly, a few locations in the Tamil Nadu districts of Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Mayiladuthurai, Pudukkottai, Namakkal, and Tiruchi are expected Rainfall.
