Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel.

This petition impugns an order passed by the respondents cancelling the licence held by the petitioner for running a fair price shop. The order of cancellation has been affirmed by the authority in appeal.

Both the authorities have categorically recorded that the explanation of the petitioner along with the report of the Block Development Officer were discussed before an open meeting of all the villagers in which all residents raised and voiced numerous complaints against the working of the petitioner. The allegation as made by the village persons was not only confined to the non release of the essential commodities but also release of those commodities in the name of fictitious persons. The view so taken by the authorities merits no interference.

Consequently the writ petition is dismissed.
