Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.
Petitioner is before this Court with the request to direct the second respondent to renew as well as register the arms license of the petitioner bearing License no.1624 for 315-Bore Rifle No.AB-96-28 and 12-Bore DBBL Gun no.6923/96 and further to direct the second respondent to consider the applications dated 20.09.2017 and 13.10.2017 moved by the petitioner for renewal of the firearm license.
It appears that petitioner had been before this Court by means of Writ Petition no.57267/2014 with the same request and this Court vide order dated 29.10.2014 had asked the Licensing Authority to renew the firearm license of the petitioner.
Learned counsel for the petitioner apprised to the Court that in response thereafter the Licensing Authority has renewed the firearm license of petitioner and the same is valid upto 14.11.2017. He further apprised to the Court that for further renewal NOC has already been accorded by the District Magistrate, Amritsar on 07.09.2017 and as such, directives be issued to the District Magistrate, Allahabad for consideration of his application for renewal of his license.
Learned Standing Counsel fairly states that in case any such applications are still pending and has not been disposed of, the same will be considered and decided expeditiously.
In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the issue and considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this writ petition is disposed of finally with a direction to the competent authority to consider and decide petitioner's aforesaid application for renewal of firearm license by a speaking order within a period of two months from the date of production of a certified copy of this order before him.
