What is the FSSAI License Number?

The 14-digit number offers knowledge about the manufacturer’s license or certification details and the state of production, called an FSSAI number. The brand owner shall represent the FSSAI logo and his/her license number on the label or the name on the food package. In the case of imported food products, the dealer shall present the FSSAI logo and license number along with the signature and address of the importer on a label that is attached before customs clearance.

What is the renewal of the FSSAI License in Kerala?

The license given to the FBO is valid from 1 year to 5 years as opted by FBO i.e. the FBO is required to renew the license after the conclusion of validity.

Procedure for renewal of FSSAI License in Kerala

  • To get FSSAI License renewal, application for FSSAI License renewal shall be presented in a certain form to the concerned central Licensing officials or the state FSSAI Licensing authority, based on the qualification standards for the food production.
  • The application shall be completed by a piece of self-attested information in the preferred format saying that he/she agrees or shall submit to the Food Safety and Standards Act, Regulations, or By-Laws. Additionally, it shall observe the guidelines on Hygiene and Sanitary Practices given under the FSSAI Schedule of the Enrollment and Licensing Regulations, along with the necessary documents and requisite license fee.
  • When it comes to renewal, FSSAI professionals will examine the food business to see if it meets the standards of safety and other licensing regulations before approving renewal.
  • The FSSAI License renewal shall be published by the concerned licensing officials within 60 days.
  • Moreover, from the date of getting the finished application, an FSSAI License renewal is not published within 60 days or the candidate has not undergone any suggestion in this opinion, the candidate may initiate his/her food business without waiting for further information.

Consequences of non-renewal of FSSAI License in Kerala

Always keep your FSSAI license up to date to avoid any penalty. And, renew it before your FSSAI license expires and it is constantly more suitable to apply for FSSAI registration renewal, the moment you get the information.

Go for your FSSAI License revision 30 days before the end of the license to avoid the charges of delayed renewal of food license. You will be required to pay Rs. 100 per day as a penalty, on leaving to renew the license.

However, take note that the FSSAI License will remain to be in force, throughout the time the sequences on the renewal application are given in the approval of the appellant. It must not exceed 30 days from the date of the expiry of registration or validity of the license.
