What is Patta?

A Patta is a legal document issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu to the landed property owner. A Patta can act as a revenue record in the owner’s name and be obtained from the concerned Tahsildar’s office in a particular district.

  • The number of Patta

You should follow the following steps to apply for a PattaChitta online.

  1. Click here and visit the official website of Tamil Nadu Revenue Services.
  2. Click the ‘View Patta & FMB/Citta/TSLR Extract’ link on the homepage.
  3. Select the following details related to the property for which you require the PattaChitta and click “Submit”.
  • District
  • Area type ( urban/rural)

Enter the following details on the next page. Then enter the ‘Captcha’ and ‘submit’.

  • District
  • Taluk
  • Town
  • Ward no
  • Block
  • Survey number
  • Sub-division number
  1. While filing the online patta application, you need to submit a statutory fee of ₹100
  2. Upon successful submission of the fee and online Patta Chitta registration, a certificate will be generated online from the Town Survey Land Registration. It will contain information such as the locality, the land type, the survey number, the type of construction on the property and so on.

How to Check the Status of the Online Application?

  • Enter your application Id, the ‘Captcha’ and click ‘Submit.’

  2. Click on ‘Verify Patta’
  3. Enter your unique reference number on the space provided and click the ‘Submit’ button
