Pedalling for GPS Art: Indore's 300 Cyclists Create Bicycle Pattern for World Bicycle Day

On the eve of World Bicycle Day, 300 cyclists in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, created a bicycle pattern using GPS art. This innovative project aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle through cycling.

GPS art involves cycling a pre-determined route with a GPS device to create large-scale patterns. The route is visualized on an app, overlaying a line on an area map to form intricate designs.

The 300 cyclists, including 45 women, pedaled 25 kilometers through Indore's roads and alleys. Led by Amol Wadhwani of ‘The Pedal Enthusiasts’, they spent four months planning this remarkable feat.

The route, starting and ending near Gandhi Hall, took cyclists through various terrains. This challenging journey showcased their dedication and highlighted the importance of World Bicycle Day.

Declared by the UN in 2018, World Bicycle Day on June 3 promotes a healthy lifestyle. Indore’s GPS art initiative is a unique celebration of cycling and its benefits for physical and mental well-being.
