In no situation will another person be given these rights, even if something were to happen to the employee. 

The wage limit of the employee is also an important criterion to consider. The limits are changed from time to time. But from 1 January 2017, the wage limit has been confirmed at Rs. 21,000. Anyone with wages above this limit can no longer register under the Employee State Insurance Corporation Scheme. 

This Scheme has been created to cover various areas of the working sector of India. Small businesses like cinemas, restaurants, studios, etc., now fall under this Scheme as well. Another change that has been made is the addition of private educational and medical institutions which have ten or more employees. Any small start-up business can register under this Scheme for the financial benefits their employees can have access to.

The ESIC will pay for any health issues the employees have contracted at their workplace. 

Any employee who is temporarily disabled and caused by the company’s work will still receive monthly wages for the time taken off work. This applies to those with a permanent disability as well. The ESIC will also ensure that the employee is paid every month of the year until their death. Treatment for diseases is also paid for by the ESIC, which will include everything in the medical bill. 

Although ESIC hospitals are capable of providing good healthcare, there may be times the patients will have to be transferred elsewhere for further treatment. These bills will, also be considered even if it is not an ESIC hospital. Besides the sick or disabled, the ESIC will also provide financial security for registered employees who may have retired from their companies. 

This Scheme not only wishes to support employees and their close families. It also hopes to help employees maintain their dignity even in emergency medical cases where they may be lacking funds. Instead of the stress and panic, they are assured that ESIC will help provide for their medical needs. 

This Scheme also has hospitals located in different parts of the country. So if an employee requires medical assistance in a state outside the one they work in, they can easily approach any ESIC medical center to get help. Medical leave taken by an employee will be considered, and the ESIC can pay them their monthly wage. If the employee is removed from the company, the Scheme will offer them financial support for the next 24 months to enable them to find employment again.
