What is the e-way Bill System?

The e-way bill system, also known as the e-way bill portal, can be accessed at https://ewaybillgst.gov.in/. It is an electronic document that transporters must carry when moving goods worth over ₹50,000 from one place to another. 

The e-way bill system generates a unique e-way bill number for every invoice used by the transporter, recipient, and supplier during the transportation of goods from the origin to the destination within the e-way bill’s validity period. Prior to it, waybills were generated in each state. However, with the implementation, e-way invoices are generated and accepted throughout all states and Union Territories.

What is the Goods and Service Tax Login Procedure for Existing Users?

Step 1: Go to the official website at www.gst.gov.in and click on the ‘www.gst.gov.in login dashboard’ button in the homepage’s top right-hand corner.

Step 2: Enter your username, password, and the captcha code, then click on the ‘LOGIN’ button.

Step 4: The credentials page will appear. Enter the username and password of your choice. Re-confirm the password and click on the “Submit” button.

Step 5: A success message will be displayed once you have successfully created your username and password. You can now log in using these credentials.

Step 6: Upon your first login, you will be prompted to file a non-core amendment application to submit bank account details. Click on the ‘FILE AMENDMENT’ button.

Step 7: The application form for editing will appear, and the non-core fields will be available in editable form. Edit the details in the bank accounts tab by clicking the ‘ADD NEW’ button and submitting the application.

How to Check Your Status?

  1. Visit the official portal at www.gst.gov.in login dashboard.
  2. Click on the Services tab and select ‘Registration’ from the drop-down menu.
  3. Click on ‘Track Application Status’.
  4. Enter your ARN (Application Reference Number) in the given field and click the ‘SEARCH’ button.
