Airbus Shortlists 8 Sites for H125 Chopper Production in India with TASL

Airbus Helicopters, partnering with Tata Advanced Systems, has shortlisted 8 locations in India for the H125 chopper production line, a first for a civil helicopter in the private sector.2

The H125 chopper, a single-engine marvel, will be the fourth such facility worldwide. This project reflects a significant push towards the Make in India model, announced in early 2024.

Expected to cater to a demand for 500 helicopters in India and South Asia over the next 20 years, the H125 production line will initially produce 10 helicopters annually, ramping up as orders grow.

The partnership aims to enhance strategic ties between India and France, with the new facility slated to break ground by year-end and the first H125 helicopter rolling out in 2026.

Featuring a 2.8-tonne capacity, the H125 can carry up to six passengers, fly at 23,000 feet, with a range of 630 km and a top speed of 250 kmph. It’s ideal for various commercial and law enforcement roles.

India's private sector steps in as HAL's capacity is full. The H125s from India will boost the country's visibility as an exporter, with major components sourced from France, Germany, and Spain.

With Airbus and Tata's collaboration boosting India's helicopter industry, it's the perfect time to apply for partnership registration. Secure your business's future in aviation today!
