The following documents are required for pan card apply online for a company

A) For companies incorporated in India

  • Copy of the Certificate of Incorporation
  • Additionally, copy of the NoC issued from the MCA ( Ministry of Corporate Affairs)
  • Proof of address ( where the registered office of the company is located).A Demand Draft of the requisite fee ( if the payment is made offline)

B) For companies incorporated abroad

  • Copy of the Certificate of Registration from the country of incorporation. The same needs attestation by “Apostille”/ Indian High Commission/ Indian Embassy/ consulate /authorization officials of branches of Scheduled Indian Banks located in the country of incorporation.
  • Copy of the Certificate of Registration issued in India, with the approval by Indian authorities to establish an office in India.

What is the process of applying for a PAN Card of the company?

Here is the step-by-step process of pan card apply online for a company-

Step 1

To reach the paperless PAN application page on the NSDL website, click the URL (Alternately, you can also apply on the UTIITSL website by clicking the URL.

Step 2

Select ‘Form 49A’ or ‘49A’ from the ‘Application Type’ drop-down menu. Also, select ‘Company’ as the category of your business.

Step 3

Write ‘M/S’ in ‘Title’ and your company name in the ‘Last Name ‘box. Also mention the date of Incorporation of the company, the contact number, and the Email Id. Then, enter the Captcha code and click ‘Proceed’. An auto-generation token number will be sent to your email Id.

Step 4

On the next page, you need to specify the source of income of the company. Select ‘Income from business/profession’ and mention the type of business. Additionally, Fill in your office address in the space provided. This will remain on the PAN database as your official address for communication.

Step 5

In this step, your need to provide your AO (Accounting Officer) Code. You can search for your code by visiting the NSDL website and clicking the ‘AO Code Search for PAN’ link.

Step 6

In this stage, you will be directed to upload the specified documents related to your company. Moreover, you will also need to specify your relationship with the company. Please note that only the company director or an authorized signatory can apply for a PAN card for a company.

After filling the form, kindly review them. Additionally, after checking for errors, you can click the ‘submit’ button.

Step 7

Additionally, in this step, you need to pay the required application fee. You can make the payment through net banking, debit/credit card, and demand draft.

Step 8

On successful submission of payment, an acknowledgment receipt bearing a 15-digit acknowledgment number will be sent to your email id. Moreover, keep this number for checking your PAN card application status online at the NSDL website.

Step 9

You need to send the hard copies of the specified documents, along with the signed acknowledgment receipt to the NSDL office. Send the Demand Draft also, if you have made the payment offline.
