What is GST?

GST, which stands for Goods and Services Tax, is a new form of taxation that has replaced the other indirect taxes in India. The GST threshold for businesses was raised from INR 20 lakhs to INR 40 lakhs in 2019. In case businesses exceed this threshold, not registering under the GST is an offence which will lead to hefty penalties.
